RV Bread of Life Food Pantry

Jesus taught us that when we show compassion to the poor and feed the hungry we are treating Him in the same way. (See Matthew 25: 35)  The first month we opened the doors of our Bread of Life food pantry in 2005 we ministered to 7 families. In a recent month we distributed food and personal items to 234 families representing nearly 1000 people.

Keep in mind:
One in 6 households in North Carolina are food insecure.
The number of families served in our food pantry has doubled since 2010.
Our shelves are full for our clients because of your generosity and sacrifice.

Our Bread of Life food pantry is affiliated with Feeding America and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. We are funded through contributions from the Raleigh Vineyard Church, local businesses and personal contributions of cash and food drive items. We are always in need of non-perishable food items, such as tuna, peanut butter, canned goods, cereal, pancake mix, dinner kits, rice, pasta, crackers, snack items and canned fruits. Non-food items such as diapers, paper towels, toilet paper, personal hygiene items, soap, toothpaste, and laundry detergent are always welcome. If you would like to donate to our food pantry, you can call the church office at (919) 790-0001 to make arrangements to drop off those items.

If you wish to make a cash contribution, we are always eager to shop for you. Your dollars go farther at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. There we can buy commonly distributed items in bulk. There are envelopes and a collection box dedicated to the food pantry in the church lobby near the welcome center. You can also give through this website on the donations page by designating your gift in the drop down menu.

Our food pantry is located at the rear entrance of our church. Any family in our community who needs food and personal items can come. Due to COVID-19, we are open every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 9:00AM until 11:00AM as a drive-thru service.  A pre-packed box of food will be delivered to your car. First-time visitors will need to have a picture ID with their current address. If the picture ID does not contain the current address, additional documentation will be needed, such as a rent receipt or contract, utility bill, or tax bill.

It takes a large staff of volunteers to shop, stock shelves, prepare boxes of food, and run the distribution on Saturdays.  If you would like to be involved in this ministry, you can sign up here. You do not need to be a member of Raleigh Vineyard Church to serve.
A true story:
Pastor and Vineyard church-- Our family has been served a couple of times through the Bread of Life food pantry. You will never know how much this has done for our family.  Not only did you feed us physically, you also fed us spiritually.  You provided us with toiletries, cleaning supplies, wash powder and many other things we could not get during our rough times. One of the weeks we came someone offered us a bible.  Another week someone prayed for us.  Our life has been blessed by the generosity of your Church.  We have not been attending any Church for a long time. You really made us take a look at how we are living our lives.  Never think of this as a small ministry.  I can't imagine how many others are touched by your ministry.  Many thanks and may God bless you...
